A spectacular afternoon at Cape Cornwall in March 2022. Atmospheric conditions created the tallest waves I will ever see in my lifetime. I have called this picture “Waterfall” for obvious reasons.

The autumn colours were magnificent this year in the Lake District. The conditions for photography weren’t fantastic most days but for one brief moment the light came and I managed to capture this sublime image of a very full Derwentwater.

It is a well-photographed place but it doesn’t ever fail to impress. This picture was made on a very calm early May morning and for me it is one of most beautiful places in the Lake District

The last of the light over Bedruthan

There are fewer more spectacular parts of the coast in Cornwall. True there are more dramatic scenes when the weather turns stormy but on a day like this what could be more beautiful?

This has to be one of the most incredible parts of Cornwall from a photographer’s perspective.

It had been an overcast day in Cornwall and the sky looks moody as the tide comes in over the rocks at Bedruthan Steps

Bassenthwaite isn’t the most beuatiful of the Lakes but when it is as calm as this with the heather on Skiddaw it is at its best

As I was taking this, I realised the tide had come in a bit more quickly than I expected. I like the result but I got wet feet getting back to the car park

at 170ft, this is the highest waterfall in the lake district but quite difficult to photograph effectively in its entirety, so this is the lower section. Slightly off the beaten track but a very lovely place

This was taken close to Bedruthan Steps on the Cornish coast just after sunrise. I love the serenity and calm before the big waves started to crash in

On the descent from Castle Crag, the last of the afternoon sun lit up these trees to provide a glimpse of autumn colours

After a day of high winds and heavy rain, the sun finally came through very briefly and I made this picture looking out from Rock just before the storm clouds moved in again

Coniston with grey skies on a rainy day, However the sun did shine through very briefly lighting up some of the trees before closing in again very quickly. It was very much a case of right time right place.

It was a damp and misty start to our Lakes trip but in autumn, there is always the chance of a reflection at the top end of Windermere. It was great to spend an hour waiting for things to settle and this was the result.

Don't you just love it when the sun comes up and turns everything the richest of autumn gold? This particular shoot hadn't started well with a washed out sunrise but it pays to hang around a while.

After a long wait, the early morning sun shed a golden light on the fells at the top of Windermere. Autumn in the Lakes is as good as it can get when the light is like this.

This is my favourite picture from the morning I spent at Bedruthan on the beautiful Cornish coast. The 90 sec exposure has created a sense of movement in the clouds.

Possibly one of the most peaceful places, certainly the day I visited. I just sat on the beach and waited for the sun to drop on to the horizon.

This picture was taken on an overcast day at Derwent Water. As the mist cleared, the vivid autumn colours of Derwent Isle came into view. Ten minutes later the rain started and the Isle disappeared from view

There can't be many more beautiful places than Staithes nor a better vantage point to take photographs from. I never tire of going back.
